School Chalks Up Best-Ever GCSE Results!
Higham Lane School is proud to inform you that we have achieved our best-ever GCSE results!
As results were announced on Thursday, August 21st, students, staff and governors were delighted that our 2014 performance significantly breaks all previous records set by the School.
● 84% of students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics (2013 figure 69%).
● 99% of students achieved 5 or more A*-G grades, including English and Mathematics.
● 90% of students achieved 5+ A*-C grades.
● Best-ever results were also achieved in many subjects including the key core subjects of English and Mathematics. English A*-C was 88% and Mathematics A*-C was 92%.
Outstanding individual performances included Charley (Wan-Kiu) Lai, who achieved 8 A*s and 6 As; Jamie Wilson, 8 A*s and 3 As; Emma Smallwood, 8 A*s, 2 As and 1 B; and Jessica Holker, 8 A*s, 1 A and 2 Bs.
There were also excellent performances from Nicole Turnbull, 7 A*s and 5 As; Lydia Hallam, 7 A*s and 4 As; Charlotte Taylor, 7 A*s and 4 As; and Laura Miller, 7 A*s, 3 As and 1 B.
In addition, impressive results were also achieved by Uzair Asif with 5 A*s and 6 As; Ella Drayton, 5 A*s and 7 As; and Syan Patel, 5 A*s, 6 As and 1 B.
Overjoyed Headteacher, Phil Kelly, commented: ``Everybody connected with the School is absolutely thrilled with our best-ever results. They are really well-deserved! I would like to congratulate the students for all their hard work, which has been rewarded with these fantastic results.
``There are many terrific individual performances from students of all abilities. I would particularly like to thank and congratulate our teaching and support staff, who have worked tirelessly to support the students to achieve these brilliant results. I am also grateful to their parents and carers for all their support and encouragement.''

Higham Lane's Headteacher, Phil Kelly, was interviewed live on-air for the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Radio Breakfast Show by Richard Williams. Mr Kelly spoke proudly of the School achieving record results of 84% A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics. The radio station's roving reporter also interviewed three high-achieving Year 11 students - Charley Lai, Jamie Wilson and Nicole Turnbull - who opened their results live on-air!
