Higham Finish Second In School Games
After winning the District competitions, Higham Lane qualified to take four teams to the Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire School Games.
In the tennis competition, the boys' and girls' teams performed very well against some tough opposition, the boys managing to finish sixth overall and the girls a very respectable fourth.
In the rounders tournament, the Year 9 girls played extremely well in a massive field boasting 16 teams. Unfortunately, they just missed out on qualifying for the top four on points difference.
They saved their best hitting for the final matches, winning each game to finish an excellent fifth overall.
Higham's best performance came in the boys' Super Six competition. Each student must complete two individual athletics events - one track and one field - and score points depending on time or distance.
All the competitors performed excellently, showing superb effort to beat some of their personal bests.
Four students then run the relay, with points again being awarded depending on performance.
All the points were subsequently totalled up and the overall result was very close, Higham Lane just missing out on top spot but finishing a very pleasing second.
